Brixen's "Blue Gold"

Water is one of Brixen's lifelines. This tour will show you how water has contributed to the development of the town.
Situated at the confluence of the rivers Eisack and Rienz, Brixen was flooded several times until the rivers were tamed. Its healthy waterways and fountains are mentioned in more than one early manuscript, along with Brixen's beneficial climate and good wines. The Guggenberg spa is generally considered the first Kneipp spa of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
